The Collegiate Schools (Departments)

The Collegiate is composed of four different ‘schools’ which offer different subjects or syllabus codes geared towards enabling students to pursue careers of their choice after completion of the programme. The ‘schools’ are as follows:

THE SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICS AND NATURAL SCIENCES

This is a ‘School’ that offers:

THE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

This is a ‘School’ that offers:

  • Economics (9708)
  • Business (9609)
  • Accounting (9706)

THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

This is a ‘School’ that offers:
  • Geography (9696)
  • History (9389)
  • Business (9609)
  • Economics (9708)

THE SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES, LITERATURE AND PERFORMING ARTS.

This is a ‘School’ that offers:
  • English Language (9093)
  • Literature in English (9695)

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • For applicants to be admitted into:
    AS Programme directly, an applicant should have successfully passed LGCSE/IGCSE or the equivalent with a minimum of four (4) C grades or better in four (4) subjects including English Language and a minimum of D grade in other two (2) subjects.
  • Advanced level, they must have successfully passed AS Level with the minimum of 3c’s and 1D grade.

SUBJECT CHOICE

Students shall be guided on which subject group to take based on the IGCSE/LGCSE results and the career path after AS/A levels.

ASSESSMENT

The Collegiate provides frequent tests and assignments aimed at ensuring that students perform phenomenally and ultimately obtain the best grades that enable them to be admitted into local and international universities of highly recognized standard of education. It is worth noting that Bridging Programme Examinations are internally assessed while Advanced Subsidiary and A Level Programmes are assessed by Cambridge Assessment International Education through effective monitoring of the Examinations Council of Lesotho.
