Know About LCFC
Lesotho-China Fellowship Collegiate initially known as Lesotho-China Friendship Middle School was built as a gift from the government of China to the government of Lesotho. This institution was launched in August 2017, where the first intake of students was enrolled into a Bridging programme.
The Collegiate is a registered pre-tertiary institution (Registration number: 203 009) located at high altitude of Sehlabeng Thuathe plateau in Berea district. It offers Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced (A) level subjects to post LGCSE/IGCSE (or their equivalents) students through CAIE Centre number LS201.
It also offers a customized bridging programme to students who cannot enroll into AS programme directly. It aims at enrolment of quality students who can eventually become academically competitive both nationally and internationally.
It is of great significance to state that our academic tradition is of an international standard. Our students use English as the medium of communication which is also compulsorily a medium of instruction. This is notably significant because we welcome students from different countries and diverse cultures.
VISION
Lesotho-China Fellowship Collegiate aspires to be recognized in Lesotho, the SADC region and beyond as a model post LGCSE/IGCSE collegiate that offers a bridging programme on which CAIE Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced (AS/A) Levels are grafted/hinged. For the foreseeable future, the bridging programme will form a permanent feature and part of the very raison d’être for the establishment of the institution. As a logical development on bridging, the collegiate intends to embark on CAIE AS/A Levels programmes. The trio of programmes will build one onto the other in the order given so that, collectively, they form a solid springboard from which to hook with the demands of university education.
MISION
The Collegiate exists primarily to solve long time existing problems which frustrated post LGCSE/IGCSE graduates’ entrance into and coping with university education. The solution will be provided through the employment of key strategies of growth, differentiation and diversification which fundamentally entail the offering of two programs namely; ADVANCED SUBSIDIARY and ADVANCED LEVELS. These three programs are geared towards providing the academic rigour and grounding necessary for further study at university or any tertiary institutions.

The core values of The Collegiate, which derive from its motto – which implicitly encourages and provides a foundation for it to fulfill its mission and accomplish its vision – include: the production of autonomous/independent lifelong learners, competitive/ institutional advantage, discipline, ethical behavior, hard work, high ambitions, honesty, integrity, morality, quality, proper general deportment, respect, sense of purpose, stretch (working for long hours), sustainability, timeliness and truthfulness.
POLICY ON STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
The Collegiate currently, due to limited resources, only admits students with walking/movement disabilities. However, it is one of our primary objectives to also admit those who may possess other impairments in future. Therefore, it is required that any form of disability be fully declared in the application form.
THE ACADEMIC SESSIONS DURATION
The Collegiate offers:
- Advanced Subsidiary Level which is a one year programme that begins in February and ends in November.
- Advanced Level which is a one year programme that begins in February and ends in November.
